School Library promotes building a knowledge–driven community for the future

Prabhu Educational Society as a part of the Prabhu Eng. Med. High School, established a library and strengthened it with 6000 collections useful not only for students and staff of the school but also literature meant for higher classes from Intermediate to Post-graduation and for general reading of the public of all ages.

Consequent to the decision to start Sri M. Balarama Reddy Memorial Public Library in the school premises, books relating to school education only have been retained in the present School Library and all other standard works numbering about 2000 have been transferred to Sri M. Balarama Reddy Memorial Public Library and they relate to various areas like.

Art and Literature (Modern & Classical), Physical and Biological Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, History, Heritage and Culture, Religions and Philosophy, Political Science and Public Administration, Health Education and Preventive Care, Yoga and Meditation, Personality development, Biographies of National and International personalities, Communication and Computer Education, Sports and Games, General Knowledge, Anthropology and Sociology.

In addition to the above, addition of rare books from the Personal Library of Sri M. Balarama Reddy donated by his kin is an asset to the Library. At the request of the management of Sri M. Balarama Reddy Memorial Public Library, Prof. P. Jayarama Reddy, former Vice-Chancellor, S. V. University, Prof. P. Subramanyam, former Principal, SVU College of Engineering, Dr. K. Ramalinga Reddy, Retd. Professor,Dept. of Chemistry, S.V. University, Dr. P. Munirathnam Reddy, Retd. Professor, Centre for Southeast Asian and Pacific Studies, S.V.University and the family of late Prof. M. Suryanarayana, Dept. Of Anthropology, S.V.University gifted useful books from their personal libraries to the MBR Public Library. Munificent donors have subscribed dailies namely The Hindu, New Indian Express, Eenadu, Aandhra Jyothi, Sakshi and magazines namely Readers Digest, Time, Competitive Success, Engineering Success and Employment News. Effective steps are being taken to procure all other dailies in Telugu and English and periodicals in as many branches as possible.

To be in tune with latest trends, the management is planning to upgrade the Library with e-books and side by side with Digital Library to enable the readers to update the knowledge in various fields. This library is open to all students (including those preparing for various Entrance Tests and Competitive Examinations), parents of the school children and the general public.

1. Monday to Saturday

Morning: 8:00 Am to 10:00Am

Evening: 4:00 Pm to 8:00 Pm

2. Sunday: 8:00 Am to 1:00 Pm

Sri M. Balarama Reddy Memorial Public Library Management Appeal

The management of Sri M. Balarama Reddy Memorial Public Library appeal to the philanthropists and the elite public to contribute liberally for its maintenance and to help in its functioning by becoming its patrons. Your contribution will be utilized to procure Library material and equipment, subscribe to News papers and magazines, purchase of useful books and to hire the services of Library Assistant. Further the patrons are requested to gift useful books from their personal libraries and to extend their valuable expertise in guiding the students and the youth who utilize the library for their enrichment of knowledge and career building by delivering the ‘Guest Lectures’ whenever solicited by the management of the Library.

Your contribution amount could be made in the form of Cheque/DD/cash/online transfer (RTGS / NEFT) in favour of Sri M. Balarama Reddy Memorial Library, Tirupati (Andhra Bank SB A/c No: 103211100001103, IFSC Code: ANDB0001032, Andhra Bank, SVU Campus, Tirupati- 517502) for which the management of the Library gratefully acknowledge the amount received.

The patrons could also contribute in small amounts in regular instalments from their monthly salaries/pensions by authorizing the Bank Manager for online transfer of the amount. The prescribed ‘Authorization Form’ is enclosed for your use.

The management of Sri M. Balarama Reddy Memorial Public Library express its heartfelt thanks for your generous contribution which help to cherish the memory of a great person who lived among us and inspired many people.

It is hoped that the library named after a noble soul will help the readers to enrich their knowledge and improve their talents and skills.
